System Restore in DOS possible?

basically my system is bricked because some DLL file has become corrupt and it won't login.

Is it possible to do a system restore without the need to go to the desktop?

For example in DOS with command prompt, if so could someone explain to me in as much detail as possible how I would go about doing so.

Yeah I just stuck the Vista disk and found that and it worked.

Thanks anyway though.

I hadn't initially thought of that though because I thought like XP on the disk it would only have a repair option, which I've always found to be useless.

Anyway I just by accident came across the restore feature on it and it worked.
