hi i just bought an i7 8700k and a z370 plus gaming motherboard, cpuz says my cpu is at 4.7 all the time but bios reports 3.7, but the target turbo is 4.7 so is my cpu always on full whack?, i would like it to run at 3.7 then ramp up to whatever, also the ram is ddr4 4000mhz but wont boot at that speed, these boards are more complicated than my old z77 so if anyone can shed some light on this it would help then i can start a fresh with the bios, thanks

i haven't oc anything the target turbo is 4.7ghz and the cpu avx is set to 4.7ghz and north bridge 4000 and something else is 4000 but now cpu z says its running at 4.3ghz

yes cpu and ram is g-skill trident 4000mhz, i think the system is on auto overclock, but i don't know how to get the cpu to run at stock and then bump up the ram...
