Hey guys,

I've just started playing through this game for the first time...

I'm on the first level and I think I've run into a bug. Wherever I go, I have an unlmited number of "hybrids" coming at me. They are easy to kill but after five minutes of bashing them with the wrench, it's getting very tedious.

I know this forum has a fair few players of this game - can anyone help?

P.S. I'm using the DDfix and widescreen mod.

Lol, happened to most of us on our first play through :)

Stick with it, it's an amazing game.

Well, I've played into it for a few hours now and I find it pretty boring tbh... :(

I love first person RPGs (Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls etc.), but this one isn't doing it for me. I reckon that if I played it when it first came out, then I would have really enjoyed it. But I feel that if like me, you are playing this game for the first time in 2009, then it's just too dated. As for the horror side of it, I haven't been remotely scared/jumped once. No game's made me jump since Doom 3, hopefully Dead Space won't disappoint though. ;)

Having said all that, I will persevere and play it through to the end. May as well give it a proper chance if it's supposed to be such a classic.

Weapon degredation turns me off games completely... which is why I never finished SS2 despite really liking a lot of the game... infact I only played about 30 minutes of it and despite being really into the game in most other aspects I just couldn't live with it.

If you pump skill points into Maintainance then this won't effect you too much.

Am nearing completion now (I think) and have to say that the game has won be over. Again, playing so long after the release has reduced its impact significantly. But nonetheless, it's a very enjoyable game and would be happy to recommend it to anyone interested in this kind of game. :)
