System slow to respond due to data drive spinning down

I have a 120GB SSD for my OS & Software, and a (very old) Maxtor 160GB SATA HDD for my data. If I don't access any files for a while (not timed it) the data drive spins down, and then I have an annoying delay while it spins up when I want to do anything on it (open files, play music, scroll to the other end of a huge PDF)

Is there a way to stop or reduce this? I guess I could stop the drive from ever spinning down, or just buy a 240GB SSD for my data (which is a longer term option!)

Goto

1. Control Panel.
2. Power Options.
3. Make sure on High Performance.
3. Select Change plan settings.
4. Select Change advanced power settings.
5. Select + on Hard disk.
6. Select + on Turn off hard disk after.
7. Select Plugged in.
8. Press down arrow till it reads Never.

See if this helps.

Regards

C.
