System Slows down

Every now and again my system comes to a halt for a couple of seconds I cannot do anything and when it does respond everything I have clicked on or opened comes up instantly.

All the hardware is new as it is a recent build cant work out what is wrong unless it is something running in the background or Windows 7 playing up.

Is there a mechanical drive present? My machine seems to do something similar when the drive spins down

Have a look at your power saving options

Yes there are 2 Mechanical driver I have set tem to stop spinning down don't know if if it is working though.

I thought it might be this issue what do you think? can toy really do anything about it

I'd give disabling the power saving a go on the hard drives, see if it makes a difference. It did for me

They are set to never powering off still happens though not sure what it is

Can l ask how full your SSD is, if there is too much data on it, this can lead to slow down.

Apart from that does everything else work ok? Do you ever get freezes when your playing a game or similar?

Try running tests in Seagates SeaTools.

Less than half of the SSD is full and the rest of the system works fine in games etc. I have ran SeaTools everything seems ok

If you can remember the time and dates when this has happened, check in your Event Logs to see what was recorded.

Id keep the windows performance monitor running. It it does happen again, you will see whats causing the high cpu usage/disk access bottleneck.

Can you hear anything when your systems comes to an a halt? my system does this now and then and the disk on my hard drive seems to spin relatively faster.
