advice please! system sound ok?

hi, about to build my first system and wondered if some experienced builders could give their opinion on my components? thanks!

antec p180 black
antec (i think true power) 650w 3x12v
abit in9 max
intel c2d e6600 2.40ghz
corsair dominator 2x1gb matched 800mhz
seagate 320gb 7200
samsung dvd rw 18x18x18

as the core components. not decided on graphics card etc yet!

That looks perfectly fine. Not sure how abit 680i mobo fair against the likes of ASUS or EVGA though.

What resolution are you playing your games at??

7900GS / 1950pro if your monitor has 1280*1024 native res, 7950GT / 1950XT for up to 1600*1200 gaming. If you have the money go all out on a 8800GTX then you will be fine for a long while.

The Asus mobo is tripe & the preliminary benchmarks I've seen around the net, the abit motherboard isn't worth the £70 extra over the EVGA.

Unless you really want the onboard wifi - I'd say go for the EVGA.

And the ram, the dominator stuff is quite good, although if you are overclocking and can spring the extra, consider the team extreme/crucial anniversary.

Everything else looks good though

And like Steve says, if you can afford it go 8800GTX for the DX10 goodness & power
