System specs for Total War: Shogun 2

I was planning a cpu upgrade from the q5500 for shogun. Its a bit of a cheek to suggest that i need to have the latest intel cpu but then the splash on empire/nap did say runs smoothly on an intel i7, the latest cpu at the time. The only setting i had to turn down was unit size and shadows.

I loved all the total war games until empire/napolean (buggy game and boring era) came out. Im hoping they dont screw this game up, but by the look of it and what people are saying about it looks pretty good.

You always did need a powerful CPU to get the best out of the previous games but I'm sure it will also be scalable enough to play for people like me who are still on C2D.

CA made a huge blunder in Empire by forgetting to include multicore support at launch. The game was bugged to hell and the guy incharge of AI apparently packed his bags and left the country before finishing. They then launched Nap and never bothered fixing Empire's diplomacy and AI even after the best part of a year.

As a massive fan since shogun I was really annoyed and I hope they have learnt from their mistakes. If they release something playable it will be a blessing.

DX 11 could make it lovely

recommended specs are invariably far too low (my rule of thumb, is add 50% power to the recommended spec, and that is the MIN spec if you want decent performance without turning a lot of settings down)

Surely the whole definition of min spec is with everything turned down to the lowest settings
