Hey, after i updated my bios my system does not boot straight away. When i press the power button, all the fans start and the hard drive but there is no display. Around 15 seconds later the cpu fan will go on 100% and i get display. Whats causing the delay?

I tried flashing the bios again, both threw windows and EZ Flash, tried psu, tried different RAM.

If the bios is screwed can i replace the chip?

Spec:
Q6600 stock
HD4850
Asus P5Q PRO

By which way did you flash the BIOS the first time?

(Don't say Asus Update, and don't say you have a 64bit OS!)

Theres way to little info here to diagnose your problem.

Delayed boots can be caused by lots of reasons. The No. 1 reason is because the BIOS is looking for something that it cant find.

As said below try clearing the cmos, if this doesnt work then try a minimum build and see if it still occurs.

Recently I had an issue where a laptop ROM adaptor was connected but the drive had worked its way loose causing the bios to hang there for nearly a minute before doing anything.

I orginally flashed with the update tool on a 64bit os yes.

I reflashed, twice using E Z flash in the bios.

Clearing the cmos doesn't work, including leaving the battery out. I have booted with no hdd or cdrom, same thing, and i have booted with only 1 of my two sticks of ram, same again.
