recently my system just starts stuttering while gaming mainly in rust but sometimes it does happen when simply browsing the web.

This was after gaming on Rust at least 15 to 20 mins after.

MSI 3080TI Suprim X

NZXT kraken z73

Gzkill Trident 64gb 3600 DDR4

Asus strix 690 - A

WD 1TB m.2 WDS100T3XHC

Samsung 980 PRO Series NVMe SSD, PCIe 4.0 M.2

Its still kinda sturrering while posting this not as bad. NZXT cam says temps on cpu is 29 and gpu is 55. Im wondering is it an m.2 temps issue?

ideally have taskmager open to see what is being hit, could be a variaty of things at play, high cpu usage, high ram usage, hight ssd/hdd usage or again high gpu usage when your pc freezes keep an eye on taskmanager via performance tab and see what spikes to 100%, then try to look at what program or background task is causing this in taskmanager via the processes tab, check to see if all your drivers are upto date too, have a look and report back if the above steps don't work or do work :)

After this, try removing any addon cards and go down to one ddr stick (also try different ddr slots). If you've updated the bios semi recently try reverting to previous bios.

So just to give an update. It happened again while just browsing and taskmanger showed nothing unusual so I said f it wiped the system

So far it seems to be ok again so far

just a quick question did you do a fresh install on the new pc or did you install a drive from another pc that had windows on it?, if so that may have been the issue due to wrong drivers etc, it's always best practice to re-install windows if building a new pc especially going from amd to intel and vise versa. :)

No when I built the pc it was a clean install on a brand new m.2 so I honestly not sure what caused it. If it happens again I'll report and I'm thinking of getting something that monitors the temps of the m.2 like Hwinfo.

It is most likely a software issue rather than a hardware one. You need to check how many processes you have running in the background and exactly what processes are running.

After a clean install go into services.msc and check so you know everything that starts up automatically, so probably needed by the OS. Keep monitoring this and the startup config on the Task Manager as you install all your extra stuff for 'unnecessary' startup tasks the can be disabled.
