hi all at present I have a sandybridge 2600k syatem using 16gb dd3 ram a p8p67pro board .My case is a corsair 600t. with an 850 corsair psu . Atm my gfx card is an msi 980ti 6g. and btw my system is win 7 pro 64bit.

My question is this im finding im getting a lot of game crashes with games like witchers 3 eso ,and overwatch I have tried all the fixs people have listed but games still crash . is it now time to upgrade and if so which intel setup would be best. ty

Is that 4x4 gb, or 2x8gb? I have 4x8 and I have to pump the ram and memory controller voltage quite a lot to get it stable with 4 dimms.

Why do you want to upgrade to Intel specifically? You'll need a new cpu/motherboard/ram in all cases, and most people will tell you AMD Ryzen is best value for money at this time. Personally I'm eyeing up a 1600X, but holding off to see what Coffee Lake delivers next month - if it delivers next month. I expect I will still end up buying the Ryzen :P

Also, I think you may HAVE to upgrade to Win 10. IIRC there's some trickery that simply won't allow Win 7 to install and run on the latest gen of hardware. Dirty, but there it is.

Win 7 runs fine on ryzen/AM4 fine tbh, They do the nasty trick of not allowing updates though, that can be by past from what I've read.
