system upgrade £250- 300 max

all the kit arrived really quickly which is great however the case connectors and one of the other connectors do not fit and I can only screw the psu in with 2 screws which I'm not too happy about.
so folks recommend me a case too and with usb3, a sata dvd drive,

cheers

YOUR BASKET
1 x Zalman Z1 Midi-Tower USB 3.0 - Black £30.95
1 x Pioneer 24x Internal DVR-221LBK DVD Rewriter - OEM £17.99
Total : £58.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Well, at least you gave it a go, and now know that you won''t spend money a new case unnecessarily. I'd have tried the same in your shoes - if something works don't fix/spend extra on it. But from the sounds of it that case is now too old (or HP customized, or both) to work with standard new components.

Will you need an extra Sata cable for the DVD drive too? That cable should go into one of the SATA 3 GB/s ports on the mobo (to leave the 6 GB/s ports for the SSD and HDD).

And mobo only supports 2 fans, one is the CPU fan and the other a Chassis fan. So make sure to get a 3 pin to molex adapter depending on your case choice (some bring one fan, others two or more).

hi all

thanks for all the advice, although a small budget the kit is great for what we need running small office super quiet compared 'jet take off/ landing' noise of previous system and so quick by comparison, if only BT would supply a decent speed we would be very happy.

migrated all my mozilla profiles across so all is sweet

thanks folks i knew this was the right place to come for advice as always, maybe i wont be away so long this time.
