Hi all

I have a good friend in the market for a system upgrade re using a few of his existing components below:

Case: Corsair carbide 240
PSU: Corsair HX620 PSU
Storage: M.2, not sure what

Required components

Motherboard
CPU
Memory, 16GB
GPU

The system will be used lightly for desktop publishing, creativity work and gaming at 1080p (looking to enjoy BF6 on release).

Budget is around £750 (+/- £150).

Any recommended specifications would be appreciated, thankyou.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £758.92 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Measure up the the case to ensure the GPU fits.

You'll be hard pressed to do better than this for £750, could be worth spending another £100 or so on the 7600X3D but I'm not sure how much the new BF likes the extra L3 of X3D chips.

Does he have an HSF that's compatible with AM5? Even if it's older some places will send out compatible bracket, Noctua and one or two other companies come to mind.

Good choice!

I would recommend looking into whether or not BF6 benefits from X3D chips, as at 1080P it might make a big difference to his experience. While the 9060XT isn't all that high end, sometimes it doesn't matter if there's a gpu/cpu imbalance.
