Hello everyone.

Just looking for some advice on some new hardware for gaming.

Current system:
Asus M2N SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon x2 6000+ 3.0Ghz(old version) OC to 3.3Ghz
Giel 4GB DDR2 ULL RAM 800Mhz
8800 GTX

Basically im after a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and cooler.
New GFX card within a few months. (HD5850)

Last build i went with AMD and i wished i went with Intel, so im looking at Intel for this build. AMD is not bad, its just i wanted a better overclock... should have done more research (but i was on a tight budget)

Ive got a 24inch 1080p monitor
case
drives + HDD etc.

Im looking at getting the following:
Gigabyte GA P55-UD5
i5 750
XMS 3 DDR3 2x2GB
No idea on the cooler yet.

Im looking to overclock the i5 as much as possible, would like to get to the 4Ghz range.

So some questions

1. Is this board reliable and a good overclocker?
I ask this because my M2n is terrible at reliability, ive had one break on me all ready and my current one gets these odd power issues when more than 1 usb device is plugged in. (My first one had the same issue then finally died, Asus lost my motherboard and i had to wait 12 weeks for a replacement.)

2. this upgrade will costs around £380 without the GFX card, am i buying the best hardware for the money... or can you guys recommand any money saving cuts without hurting performance.

3. would it be best to upgrade my GFX card to a 5850 or buy another 8800GTX? and run in SLI

Thank you for reading.

The components you have suggested are excellent.

Gigabyte make decent motherboards.

Get the 5850, then buy another later?
