System upgrade or not?

So, I've been out of the loop for around 4 years due to "life" stuff. I literally haven't got a clue what's come out in those years with regards to video cards and CPUs! I would only be able to afford stuff in the low/mid range, but am not sure if it would be worth it or not. The other issue is that I'm limited (for the foreseeable future) to a 23" 1366x768 display, so again, not sure if it's even worth it.

The current setup is an i3 3.2GHz, GTX 460 768MB, and 8GB RAM. I have got an SSD I'll be putting in for starters, but what about the rest? Would it cope with all the games I've missed in recent years at the above res with AA? Are there any bargains out there that would make a worthwhile difference?

Upgrade to a 1080p monitor and maybe a 290x if you can stretch that far. See what you have to spend and go from there thats what i do.

If upgrading you gpu make sure your psu will be gooD enough to run it.

Even in you bunged in a GTX 660 it would make a massive difference and you wouldn't have to change your psu either, as it draws 10 watts less than your current card.
They were selling them here the other day for £59.99, not sure if they still have any in stock.
