At the moment i have a 939 system using a 3800 single core amd.
I am thinking about changing to a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 nForce motherboard and a 500+x2 black edition cpu.
Would this be a decent upgrade.

are you set on AMD?
are you overclocking?
what is your budget?
dont you also need DDR2 ram for an AM2 socket CPU?

I already have two gigs of DDR2 ram.
Yes i am a big fan of AMD.
I have done a bit of overclocking but never overclock to the limit.
My budget would be about £200.
Thanks for your quick reply.

if you want the AMD root, then what you picked will be a good upgrade for that price.

if you want to go intel (awaits curses from AMD fans and praises from intel fans)

then you could get a e2180 and a p35 chipset based MB such as the IP35 by abit and it should overclock up to 3.0GHz+ (well many fellow OCUK forum members have) your choice of MB will save you money.

I think i will go AMD again as that motherboard and cpu is only going to cost about £140 and i already have the DDR2 ram.
Thanks again.
