My boss' laptop was behaving erratically so had a quick look at it and it appears that System is using somewhere in the region of 67,500K

We are currently running a couple of scans to be safe, but no idea why it's so high when the other 2 pc's in the office are only using 220K

Anyone have any ideas?

All sorted now, turns out AVG was causing the laptop to go crazy. Uninstalled it and it went back to normal. Re-installed it and it went crazy.

It's now permanently uninstalled, time to look for a better one now.

This is why I moved from AVG when they released AVG 8, just uses too much memory & slows the comp right down.

Can't use Avast as it's a business laptop :(

Apparently it's a bug in AVG, after the latest update, it changes how it uses the memory, hence the heavy memory use. Told the IT guy at work that it's a heap of crap, he responded with "It's cheap" :/

Then why not spring for something like Kaspersky or Nod32 - you can get OEM copies of Kaspersky very cheaply (£7-£8 IIRC).
