I have a usb keyboard but have had to use an old ps2 keyboard to access the bios and change settings etc... Now, my pc will not boot into windows unless i have the ps2 keyboard connected... i then have to disconnect it when in windows as the a few of the keys are jammed and bring up windows!!!

Any way to rectify this problem?

Thanks!

Do you mean that you have changed the Bios settings from Ps2 to except a USB Keyboard and it still wont boot correctly ?

should be simple option in the bios. either keyb: usb/ps2 or maybe "enable usb keyboard"

Well, make sure your BIOS supports USB keyboards. If it does, make sure all connections are physically plugged in and that the wireless devices (if applicable) are definitely receiving and sending from each other.

the usb keyboard works fine in windows... i don't understand why the system will not boot unless the old ps2 keyboard is connected? It stays on the Abit logo...

Put in the PS/2 keyboard, and head into BIOS settings. Somewhere it'll have an option called Quiet Mode. Turn it off and read what is happening in the POST without the PS/2 keyboard in.
