Right, heres the scenario.

I get a new computer from the MM. Arrives today and I add my hard drive. In my old machine, it was set to cable select.

Kept it as that, and put it in the new machine. Booted first time into Windows and everythig was fine.

Now, I tried adding my DVD drive to install some of the new drivers etc that I needed to get the net/audio working.

I added this on the other channel, and set it to cable select.

The BIOS shows the HDD as primary master, and the DVD drive as secondary master.

However, with the DVD drive installed it refuses to boot? The Windows XP screen loads and then it just goes to a black screen?

Tried swapping IDE cables/jumper settings/channels and nothing! Really starting to get annoyed now.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
