A machine of mine has displayed the message when starting up, saying that it was corrupt.
Usually what i would do is when i get an error message saying something similar to this is reinstall windows over the top using the windows xp cd (i.e when it gets to the list of the operating systems, i would press r to repair and it would reinstall windows over the top and all me stuff would still be there)
But when i get there this time, it doesnt display the list of the OS it just wants me to reformat and start all over again (i guess as its a system folder that it thinks its not there)
When I use the recovery console (black screen with, lots of options to choose from in white) I try a few and nothing seems to work.
Is there away to repair this file at all ? I tried to steal it from another machine and to copy it across although the doner machine will not let me copy the "system" folder.
Or something else in which I can do, thanks
