system32 directory - no list view?

Ok im using Windows 64, and in the system32 folder I cannot view the files by list or anything else but icon view. The drop down button is greyed out, and the list/thumbnails etc view options are missing from the "view menu".

Just formated recently so a bit confused because it was fine before I formated Any ideas?

Thats a bit odd, you should be able to view any folder in list or detail.

Try this instead

Open windows explorer, view any directory and set it how you want it, list view, show hidden files etc etc.

Now click Tools > Folder Options > View and click the "Like Current Folder" button.

Now go look at the system32 folder.

Yes that worked thank you. Strange I know, options still missing from the menu and greyed out drop down button.
