Hi Folks

Just a quick technical heads-up.

We have had a lot of support queries recently from customers who have wiped their overclocks from their OcUK Systems and Bundles.
The reason for this is because when you update the bios on your motherboard, it removes any overclock settings that you had before.

The way we overclock means that each system is individually configured and optimised to ensure that the CPU is running at the most efficient voltages.
The BIOS profile saved onto the motherboard will be unique to your hardware.

By updating the BIOS you would remove these settings.

If you have to update the BIOS on your System or Bundle then there are two ways to go about it
1. Make a note of the settings in your BIOS by looking through the overclocking sections and writing down your settings. I personally suggest using a camera to take pictures of the settings as it is easier.
2. Call our Systems Support line or contact myself directly using our Customer Support Forum, this way I can assist with any queries directly.

If anyone has any queries at all, please ask here and I will try my best to help.

Maybe with each bundle you could include a short guide of how the clock was achieved so people can repeat the process in future?

Can you imagine how many bundles they do each day? It would take forever!

exactly this, we would have to do it for systems too remember.
the amount of units we produce daily just makes it totally unrealistic unfortunately.
we are looking at ways round it but for the time being we just have to do it mostly via our support channels.

The value added to a bundle with accompanying documentation is worth it I think :)

Build, settle on final clock/settings. A minute of so to flick through the pertinent BIOS pages with a digital camera to take pictures. Document on internal systems against order REF. Ship on CD with bundle either as part of the build cost or as an optional extra for the cost of blank media/time taken.

Do OCUK Update this bios before shipping?

I can tell that ocuk did updated my bios and put ocuk profile on the bios on the F12 in the bios and they also put on my penflash with a notepad attached too. That's was 2 years ago. They never shipped it without it. I rated ocuk highly recommend.

we use the latest BIOS most of the time unless there is a known 'good overclocking' bios for a specific board. example: the old 1366 Rampage II Extreme bundle as always shipped on the 1403 BIOS as it was amazing. the later bioses added nothing of note and generally proved less stable for the higher overclocks that we sought to achieve.

but yes, 90% of the time all systems and bundles will be on the latest BIOS.

i do agree, and we are looking into that as part of our support package.
it would put our bundles a few more steps ahead of our competitors :)
