Ive never really believed in doing much car care, however i took in an old car t'other day with very faded paintwork, looked a bit of a state.

Found an old bottle of T-cut laying around and thought i'd give it a quick rub and see if it does anything - bloody wow

Thats just a quick rub round in a circle, all of the wing is completely dry, you can see what it looked like before.

Lost for words.

It's not that T-Cut is particularly amazing, any cutting compound would have a similar effect. It's just that the results are so immediate and give such an improvement that it makes cutting back oxidised paint like this quite rewarding.

I guess its just that ive never polished a car in my life, i didnt expect it to anything :D

Tcut isn't polish though is it, so you'll have to slap some wax/polish on over the top to ensure it's sealed. :)

I had a Renault 5 in the same colour as that Corsa, once I'd used Tcut, it looked amazing...can really boost the look of a car...and I'd guess help sell it too. :)

Well yeah thats the idea, someone coming to see it tomorrow and it looks awful :p Strangely some panels are still dark bright red, and others are absolutely knackered, cant explain how that happened. See the bonnet as an example, its absolutely fine

its what i did when i got this tatty punto, blown HG and awful looking paint.. cost me £50.

(spot the bit i tested the t-cut on the wing before i bought it!)

fixed the HG, cleaned it up and sold it for about £700 i think it was :D

Vauxhall red is prone to fading, as are reds from other Manufacturers.

Invest in a cheapo Rotary polisher from Ebay (35 notes), will make your cars worth another £150 imo.Its all in the presentation imo when it comes to selling cars, the sheds ive sold is unbelievable, they all had one thing in common, they were all shiney:p

Failing that, find a local valeter and strike a deal, we have a old boy locally who do a basic valet for £35, it took him an afternoon to get a car upto scratch.

I dont normally have knackered stuff like this, usually metallic decent 04+ models which dont need any of this jazz doing. Thats why this is new ground for me.

Just started spitting and it seems t-cut doesnt work when its raining, boo :'(

I found my brother's cheap rotary was naff, and the car ame out better when I did it by hand, and it isn't that much effort really, couple hours to tcut and apply 3 different waxes. :)

Ive got a silverline, and its just the job, takes the ball ache out of 'detailing:p'

Its hard work on modern finishes tbh, so its well worth investing in a polisher of some sort

you think t-cut is good, try farcella, G3 and G10 compounds, awesome stuff with a mop.

make sure you use a good wax on top once your done though or else all your work will be wasted in a month.
