Hello,

My wife recently gave her old iPhone 4S to her sister, we were under the impression she would be using a t-mobile sim, but apparently now wants to use a 3 sim and can't as it's locked to t-mobile.

Obviously the straight forward thing to do is contact T-Mobile, who I think will unlock for £20 and it can take approx. a month, which would be fine.... but i'm dealing with impatient women.

Are any of these iphone unlocking website/places legit? Can anyone recommend one they've used previously? Personally i'd rather just have t-mobile do it, but just thought I'd check to see if there were any decent alternatives people have used?

Thanks

Best to get the network to do it. The other methods require jailbreaking/modification of firmware which will be reset during updates etc.

When I've had an iPhone unlocked by O2 it took a week at most.

I'd not recommend any of them. Just go through T-Mobile. its a pain but my unlock from Orange took 2 days. just make sure they credit your account with the unlocking fee - I think its £20.42 or something daft like that.
