T-mobile Pulse - Android touch phone.

I haven't used the payment process, so apologies if this is a silly answer.
On the normal keyboard in order to get a forward slash ("/"), you swipe down on the "X" key. Does this not work for you?

Evening folks.

My Mum's got one of these after upgrading from a G1. She's having an issue where Gmail isn't being pushed to the device, and it seems to be a common problem. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm going to update the firmware for her, but thought I'd ask here first.

Cheers

Common? First time I've heard of it and I hang out on the modaco forum daily, certainly not a firmware issue as I would guess most people in this thread are on the stock rom and this issue hasn't come up yet.

Just sounds like a sync settings been missed.

Interesting, I got the info from the Modaco forums. There are a couple of threads about it.

sadly this doesn't work, on the date entry screen you just get a numeric pad not the standard keyboard.

Tried the swipe down thing, also swipe up and holding the key nothing seems to work.

Hmm, rather than go for the Pulse as i planned i'm considering the Samsung S5560, which seems to fix almost every problem that the Pulse has (build quality, bad camera, bad battery life etc.) but uses TouchWiz 2.0 rather than Android and lacks 3G and GPS... what do you think?

Lacks 3G? Surely not?

Meh, i doubt i'd use it much anyway. Keep the PAYG costs down... can't imagine myself using it much even if i didn't have to pay for it to be honest. I wonder if it will drop in price sometime soon... i'd jump at this for £100 :p

Nonsense, a tenner a month gets me unlimited internet and texts and I still get to use the credit for calls. GPRS is painful. Browsing on the Pulse with the Vanilla ROM is a joy.

It's just that i'd mainly just use Wi-Fi... i'll wait a little longer. I've gone 6 months without a phone so i can damn well go another one.

I'm selling my Pulse for £110 if you are interested, it's as new, rooted and put back to stock Android. Email in trust...

omg! :)

I was looking at getting a 2nd hand g1 as I want to get a android phone and these are cheaper than a 2nd hand g1  and I'm on t-mobile.
The only thing I will miss is the lack of a keyboard tho.

Going to look how these two compare as really not sure whether to just buy a pulse or a g1 now

Anybody know when we're going to see more Android PAYG phones popping up? This is all well and good but to be brutally honest it's got many faults, battery life and camera not being the least of which. Just something like a Nokia 5530 or Samsung Marvel with Android on it, not necasaraly with both 3G and WiFi ...

I would have gone for the Pulse when it was on offer, but it's cut corners in the wrong places for me.

What difference will it make?

1. Its got the BEST battery life of any android phone! If you want week long battery life you do not by an android phone, simple.

2. Name an android phone with good camera? I'm not sure one of them exists either.. I suspect the X10 will be the first android device with a camera worth talking about but its never going to be on PAYG.
