Mate, use the Quick Boot application to boot into recovery mode, once it's in the recovery menu, select wipe user settings. That's the best way. Don't use the factory reset option on the phone.
 
theres wipe delvik cache and wipe sd: ext partition and wipe rotate settings. shall i do all of em?
 
I am an idiot and have lost my hands free.

Where can I buy a compatible one for cheap? (The pulse is not on any 'universal' compatibility lists for hands free kits).

I still have the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor but iirc the handsfree is 2.5mm.

does anyone have the APN settings for O2 payg, tried a few that have found on the net but still cannot get internet accesss!

the sim is from my N82 which has no problems with 3g.

doesn't work for me! perhaps it's because I am using a payg sim
 
Maybe, im using a simplicity sim, but it should be the same. I did have trouble to begin with, the APNs were not saving correctly once they did it worked fine.
