No need to root as this is an official T-Mobile Hungary 2.1 update. Don't worry it installs in English and supports 2g and 3g UK T-mobile settings. Copy the DLOAD folder to your SD root, and then do update from the Phone and away you go.

Cheers. The thought of being stuck on 2.1 puts me off though, seeing as it's not actually my phone :)
 
Why would you want to go back to 1.5? This isn't a cooked, slimmed down rom. This is from T-mobile's and Huawei labs and has been designed for the Pulse. This is the real deal. T-Mobile UK will be releasing the same update very shortly.
 
I put the official 2.1 rom on last night and it works like a charm. Now i'm just going to wait for a custom rom from modaco:D
 
woo, installed the custom rom from Modaco, Apps2sd appears to be working, awesome. So much better than 1.5. Only problem is that the HTC keyboard doesnt work for me, keeps force closing.

ANyone know of any reason why this may happen? or suggest a better keyboard?

I can't get apps2sd+ working on my phone.Don't understand why as apps2sd worked on my MCR1.7. Think i'm gonna wait til I have some money then try the online kitchen rom from modaco with apps2sd(instead of apps2sd+) to see if that works.

Only problem is that the HTC keyboard doesnt work for me, keeps force closing.

I used the kitched to get a rom with apps2sd+, which worked fine. Even though it doesnt show the additional storage, it still installs to it, which is enough for me!

And I was using the wrong version of the HTC keyboard it would seem. Working fine now though! Will be trying Swype later.

I recommend using the custom modaco rom after that, has definitely improved a few things (and obviouslyt includes apps2sd). Only 40mb of free space after the hungarian rom update means its actually very useful to have!

newbie to this , I have downloaded the hungarian 2.1 update and got instructions on install.

Then you recommend i need to install custom modaco rom, does anyone have a link for this and instructions on how to do it.

I'm getting a Pulse tomorrow (although it's not actually for me), can I just confirm to update to 2.1 I just download the 2.1 HU ROM and put the DLOAD folder into the SD Root, and update via the phone? Are there no updates needed prior to this?

Not sure if im honest. I had a custom rom on before I updated. You may need the december update from tmobile UK first, not sure
