Just got a new N97 on T-Mobile, there website states that couvage in my postage is good for 2g networks atleast but in my bedroom its poor as hell, i dont know if this is a phone defect or if it really is just bad signal!

What can I do about this?

Is there any signal boosters that are good, or do you think it could be the handset at fault?

its most probably just your house. same in mine. more than fine outside, but go indoors and signal drops.

Had no problems with o2 signal.

Is there any devices out there which will allow be to boost signal in my room?

o2 2g or o2 3g? im sure t-mob piggy back on o2's 3g network for extra coverage.
whats your signal like outside of the house?

My old phone i was using on o2 2g, this new mobile at the moment is on t-mobile (iv set it to gsm and not dual mode).

2 bars in the back garden, walk into the conservatory then its one bar, further into the house no signal, walk into my bedroom then its no signal.

Really dissapointed with this, its the only thing letting me down at the moment, something which could be a big problem. If there is good coverage (so T-mobile say) why is the signal so weak when walking into houses? its terrible service.

Iv even driven into a different town and the amount of signal loss i got was mad

i wouldnt say its terrible service. all of the networks have spots of poor coverage :p

ironically, t-mob are about to start upgrading a lot of the equipment to improve coverage even more.

when you got the phone did you do a coverage check in strore? if so, you can get out of the contract due to poor coverage?

I done a coverage check on their website and it says good 2g coverage at my postcode, infact the whole town apparently has good coverage.

Going to have to send the phone back.

I get no signal coverage inside my house (not even2g). I get 1 bar outside. Driving around there are so many blackspots.

Sometime like that is enough to deter me from staying with t-mobile. I feel that I shouldnt have to pay £35 per month for 18 months for a contract where I have to wait outside my house for 1 bar if i want to wait for a phone call, text or make a phone call/text.

I havnt fully decided yet but I might just wait until the phone comes out on O2 or try and get them to swap it and get the N97 on Vodafone. Atleast I know the signal will be good.

I will see what mobilephonesdirect say tomorrow.

does anyone else you know have a t-mob phone? if its a phone problem then it wont matter what network you are on :p

where do you live?

No one I know is on t-mobile so i can't really test.

If its a phone problem then i should be able to get it swapped under warrenty. Ill see what they say tomorrow when I phone up.

:(

Just tried my t-mobile sim in my old N95 phone, In my bedroom im getting 1 bar, sometimes 2 so its abit better than the N97 but atleast its usable.

Do you think this weaker signal in my room could be down to a phone issue on my N97 then?
