Hi a pal has a Dell laptop where it is reporting the cpu is faulty.

It is a T8100. WHhat other cpus can we try in the laptop other than a T8100? Happy to go either way either a slower one or faster one.

As for which you can replace it with, that's up to your laptop's chipset, look on the DELL website and it will say. You will almost certainly have to replace it with a chip with the same FSB (800MHZ) and possibly the same amount of cache.

personally I'd be looking at the T8100 and T8300 as replacements because the 8100 is known to work and the T8300 has the same FSB and cache. But do check the DELL website as other processors are likely to be supported.
