Tabbing out of game in Windows 7

When playing COD4 I ALT+TAB out of game a lot when I die etc, when I try to get back into game some times I get a black screen for upto 10-20 seconds before I get back in.

Anyone else get this or know of a fix?

I believe this is a graphics driver issue, but I'd like to here from others if this is not the cause

Prior to switching to Windows 7, I was experiencing the same problem immediately after upgrading to Nvidia's latest driver. I've now got the same problem in Windows 7.

If I refer back to an earlier driver on Vista the problem is gone

I have exactly the same GPU as you.

I get the same problem but not with COD4

I have a 8500GT using 186.18 drivers on 32bit 7260 windows 7

If you are using the latest drivers, then just hang in and hope it is something that'll get fixed in the release candidate.

Have same problem but rarely does it come of the black screen. As said I'm pretty sure it is a driver problem and probably wont be fixed in beta drivers till at least launch date. This applies for nearly all games.

its bad in 2142 it seems to just compeletly lock and crash the game so anoying
