Table and floor lamps.

Can anyone recommend modern/contemporary style floor, table and bedside lamps? The lighting market is full of tons unknown companies/makes etc., all a little overwhelming. I'm primarily after something that provides a comfortable ambient light as opposed to blinding etc. as I’m a migraine sufferer. Would prefer LED or another bulb type which does not give off heat as would also use these lamps on a timer when the house is left unattended.

Style for each lamp type does not necessarily have to be the same.

Any recommendations/ideas?

EDIT - Just discovered the Philips LivingColors Gen 3 range, which look really interesting, anyone played with these?

Surely LED offers the exact opposite of ambient light?
They've always seemed a bit harsh to me (cheaper leds tend to be higher up the Kelvin range)

My brother in law has these, 3 levels of brightness all by touching the base lightly, combine with a soft bulb.
