I had a Razer Sphex until 2 days ago. When I removed it from the desk, it tore swathes off the veneer. The veneer wasn't the thickest, but it was stuck to the bottom of the sphex rendering it useless for reuse.

Now I have a new table I'd like to preserve it as much as possible. Any recommendations for a mat that is thin like the sphex, but will not weld itself to the surface of the desk?

TIA.

Will be hard to find one as thin, most that thin will have a similar base material.

Have you thought about getting a desk mat? Then your mouse will be on the same level as the keyboard and all your desk will be protected from wild mouse swings and keyboard bashing...

Razer and Steelseries make very thin mousemats that do not (I have both) weld to veneer.

They are not razer thin (get it) but they are thin. I enjoy my Steelseries QCK that I have been using since 2011 (I'm on my second one. They wear out when you use your PC 10 hours a day because you have no life)

I assume you mean the OCUK styled ones?

I'd use it more than 10hrs some days as I work from home and this doubles up as both home and work machine when i do.
