Tablet Advice

Morning
I am after a simple tablet for my dad, who isnt a pc wizz.
Browse internet, email, skype etc.

All is great, price is reasonable, but perhaps there is something around the price with bigger screen and better battery life?
Please help as i am clueless in tab world. Thank you

iPad Air or Mini if you can afford it, especially if your dad isn't computer savvy. Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire if you can't.

All those real cheap tablets are junk, and I don't care what anybody says. Here The Verge picks the best tablet(s) you can buy.

Yes, the 'Tesco Tablet' (Hudl?) and things like that are rubbish, cheap, but slow and hard to use. I reckon something with stock android would be good at a nice price-point, even the Shield Tablet seems excellent for general use!

Things like that, but I wouldn't recommend (as LordSplodge said) spending £50 on a tablet, just not worth it

so OCUK own brand is a nono basically? perhaps i should look into used tablets to save extra money? Don't really want to get anything like nexus, shield, fire simply because he isnt gonna use it to that extent

This is basically a choice between digital picture frame and tablet for 50£, difference between them is say £20, but tablet can be used for other things

He uses it for YouTube and web browsing, so it's perfect for him coz there's a flip stand so no need to buy extra covers to make it stand, and it has excellent speakers and also has a very good battery life

If you are flying out then buy a tablet in Dixons at duty free airport

I would definately consider the LG G pad 8.3 inch.

it's a great tablet but not wallet busting.
