Thinking about grabbing one of these. Not a Ipad or Galaxy tab just one of them what cost about £150 with the A8 processor and plays 10.1 flash.

I already have a MBP and a SGS phone, so im not desperate to get one, just curious to have 1. If you get me...

So could i have some opinions on these please? Are they worth it? Any good?

Thanks

I've also been curious about the same idea so would appreciate anyone with any knowledge on the matter replying :)

I went and bought 1 straight after i made this thread.

Went with the '8" Inch Android 2.2 Tablet PC MID Freescale iMX515 A8' for £142

After reading a lot of reviews it seems i have made a decent purchase. They say its faster than a Ipad and can play higher res videos better and it is capable of being clocked to 1.2Ghz. It has a lot of pro's with a few con's.

Biggest downside is that the screen isn't Multi-touch but im sure i can cope with that.

Now just got to wait for it to be delivered to get a hands on view of it :)

Well had it since Monday now. Well worth its money mind you.

Built quality 7/10
Speed of the thing 10/10 for what it is
Picture quality 9/10
Video playback 10/10
Sound from the Tablet Speakers 3/10
G-Sensor (up to yet) 3/10
Wifi connection 3/10
Flash/Internet Browsing 9/10
The touch screen 6/10

From taking it out the box i wasn't to impressed with the build quality, was expecting it to be better from what i have read up on it. Very plastic and around the edges of the screen is a bit creeky if you press down on the edges (though you never need to press down on the edges).

The tablet is very fast! Just as fast as my Samung Galaxy S and all the apps from the Android market work just fine on it, though some may not fit the screen perfect. Had multiple applications running at the same time and the tablet coped very well with them all with ease.

When i first started the tablet up i wasn't to impressed with the picture quality, but now it has had a few hours use i find the picture quality superb! Can see all the fine detail in high res pictures and HD videos.

Video playback on this is very good aswell! I loaded a 720p episode of 'The Pacific' and it played it fine with no hic-ups and looked brilliant. Not got round to trying 1080p yet but will do soon.

The G-Sensor, not to sure about this yet. I have tried it with the game what was already loaded onto the tablet and it works fine with that, but when i tried games from the android market, its a no go! Couldn't even sort it out in the calibration options on certain games.

The Wifi connection isn't to good either.losing signal sometimes to my Sky router which is never been more than 15ft from the tablet. Not sure if there is anyway i could sort this out in the settings yet.

Right the flash 10.1 and internet browsing is very good! Both normal sites and flash sites from these forums to Facebook,Youtube,Ebay they all work perfectly and give no hassle to the tablet.

And lastly, the touchscreen.. Not fantastic, but not rubbish either. Im use to my Samsung Galaxy S touch screen which you couldn't get any better than really, so im never going to be a big fan of the resistive touch screen on this tablet. The Tablet comes with a touch pen which is needed really for the touchscreen to work at its best, or if you have bit of a nail on your fingers that'll work fine to.

All in all i would give the the tablet 8/10 to say its just costs £142. Though if you have got money to blow, just go get the Galaxy tab or some of these new top brand Androids what are around the corner.
