Looking to buy a 7 inch tablet for daughter this christmas to replace a broken mp3 player and to play videos while on the coach.
Willing to pay around £100 but should I go for a andriod one if so what ? or pay more for something like a nexus?

If I could find one for £150 ! nearly 200. for what she wants it for seems a bit over the top as she has a smart phone and a laptop. ( had a look at it and they do look good )

you should be able to find the 16gb ones for around £150 I think, the 32gb are 179 up to 200.

If they are young and don't care about having the latest fashion item (apple device) then you won't have a problem with any cheap 7" tablet on ebay. They might not be blistering fast but they are cheap and they do the job. I got my nephew a cheap tablet for christmas so he can play some light games and watch films, listen to music etc etc.

Failing that, the Nexus 7 is an awesome little powerhouse. I bought one two days ago and I use it A LOT inside and outside work. Also quite the little gaming machine =). (Also, lots of support and help being an 'official device'

Thanks for all the replies

Purchased the galaxy tab 7 in the end, the nexus has better specification, but the samsung won my money by having an sd card slot and being £40 cheaper .
