Tablet for £150?

I'd like to buy a tablet, but there are so many out there, I have no idea where to start.

I'd mainly be using it to browse internet, stream (iplayer etc), but I'd also like to play locally stored files, mkv etc. Not too bothered about games.

Hardware, I'd like at least 720p, expandable storage, wifi only is fine, don't need 3g/4g. 5Ghz wireless would be nice, but 2.4 only is fine as well.

Something out there for me for £150? or need to up budget to get more power for stuff like mkv playback?

If I was you I would be looking at a a Microsoft Surface. They're awesome tablets and you can get some pretty decent used ones on Ebay. Look at the difference between the RT and Pro versions and decide from there.
