Hello
I am looking to purchase a tablet with it's primary purpose being reading.
I don't mind android or apple, but If transferring books on and off on the ipad is a pain, android would be preferred.
I do not have a budget, Just looking for the best one.
I would like one around 7"-9". Not too big, needs to be comfortable whilst holding.
Thanks.

Tablets are popular as e-readers, for books, documents, PDFs etc. I'm speculating if there is an ideal screen purpose for long hours of reading text. Will the variance in ppi of the Google Nexus 10 and Apple iPad 4 yield a diverse reading capability?

Definitely what @manic111 says... without a doubt.

It might be "only" an ebook reader, but your eyes will definitely love you when you spend hours reading a real Kindle, instead of hating you when tablet light sears your eyeballs! Plus, Kindles seem a little more resilient when dropped from a bed, or when you fall asleep face-first into one.

or when you fall asleep face-first into one.

Sounds like the voice of experience right there :D Im planning on getting something for the wife she can use at night time when feeding the little one. I figured a kindle was a good idea, but im guessing the fire versions would be ill suited given they are bright led screens instead of e-ink?

@cyber_pantalaimon it's absolutely the voice of experience... the current Mrs. undergroove does it regularly (and I keep having to remove it from beneath her face without waking her)! I actually bought her a Fire HD8, but she's hardly used it and sticks with the Nexus 6P for non-book stuff.
