Hi,

Can anyone suggest the kind of things I should look out for when buying a simple tablet for my mother to use for very simple games and to write emails.

Having never owned a tablet I don't know where to start.

It will have to have wireless connection obviously.

Doesn't need to be posh, just an easy to use basic tablet.

Forgot to add, it will only be used in the house so no need for contract options with airtime.

What age is your mother and if she's getting on (like mine) how is her dexterity and eye sight?

I love my Nexus 7 but would recommend something with a larger screen for more elderly folks, my dad struggles with his Kindle Fire which my brother got him and much prefers our iPad as he can zoom things a little larger due to the larger screen.

I'm not flat out recommending an iPad - but one of the larger tablets if they aren't too heavy.

She's 76 but as fit as a fiddle.

A 10" or 12" screen would suit her best and I forgot to add it should be touchscreen. (maybe they are all touchscreen, I don't know)
