Looking for a tablet for my mum this Christmas

Budget of £200

General usage including web browsing and books.

I was thinking the nexus 7?

Any other suggestions

If your mother isnt that PC literate and reading is a prime requirement then I would go for the Amazon Kindle Fire HD. It does what she needs and is very well built. Both my kids have them and they are very good. 7" tablets are good for reading but not great for prolongued web browsing in my opinion.

Fire HDs are now only £99

How about a Hudl?

If you have tesco points you may still be able to double them up to pay for it.

Do you live wwith or near her? If not then maybe consider a used ipad as she can always go into a local ishop/igenius/iwhatever they are called if she needs help on anything (assuming she has one near).

I do live with her. I have a ipad 2 for myself however I think it would be overkill.

What OS does the HUDL run on? I'll need to get my hands on one to see what its like.
