Hi all

I'm looking to get a tablet to use as part of a home cinema setup.

I plan to have it paired via bluetooth for streaming Spotify to my hifi, and also to be used as a graphical remote for XBMC. The occasional bit of Sofa surfing would not go amiss, but high performance in games, etc is not required.

My heart wants a Nexus 7 2013, but I am swaying toward prefering the 2012 due to cost, and the fact it has a much nicer horizontal dock available, which would sit very happily on top of my seperates kit.

Is there anything else I should be looking at?

Cheers

I'd for for the 2012 Nexus 7 myself. As you said there is a much nicer horizontal dock available that would sit nicely in your current set-up and the price has come right down, probably even more so in January sales! I've seen it for £120 and below in some high street retail outlets.

For what you'd use it for this would be a sleek addition to your set-up :)

There's the Tesco Hudl at £119. Doesn't have a dock but I have seen in store a HDMI adapter for it which might be useful for you.

I'm thinking of getting a Ubislate for doing pretty much the same sort of thing. It doesn't list bluetooth in the specs and at only £30 it might not have it. But it should do the job as a cheap remote for XBMC.
