Tablet PCs...usages?

I'm feeling in the minority now not actually owning any form of tablet PC; maybe statistics will prove me wrong but I just cannot think of a use for one above the functionality of my PC and smartphone. I'd really just like to spark a discussion on what people use them for, and why you would use the tablet instead of your PC/laptop/smartphone?

I do think they look nice and I'd certainly use it for general internet browsing, maybe some Netflix but that's about it.

I use mine for web browsing (posting from it now ), emailing, general reference and Flickr mainly.
Advantage over a laptop for these is portability and instant accessibility to just quickly check something.
A smartphone is OK, but too small for me for lengthy use.
I'll often just use to do a quick google or map lookup if I am discussing something or reading a book.
Talking of which I also use my tablet a lot for digital magazines.

I was sceptical of their uses when iPad first came out but now I would be lost without it. They don't necessarily do anything a laptop or PC can't just for me it is so much more convenient.

My PC though is used for photo and video editing and other more intensive tasks such as office documents etc where a physical keyboard is much better plus the overall application capabilities.

I've only just bought mine (had it over the weekend), but I mostly use it as a mini-PC while I'm in bed:
Remote control for my main PC while watching films;
Torrent control;
Browsing;
Porn

I also intend to use it as an all-around laptop replacement, so if I travel I'll take it, and I'm going to test its GPS capabilities when I do the Three Peaks later this month. Oh, and it makes a better PDF/comic viewer than my laptop or kindle do.

I have an Asus ME173 with a 32gb SD card.

Asus ME400C user here, great for surfing the net, watching youtube, downloading torrents and word documents with office 2010, stuck in 64gb mSD so pretty much covers what l need and is great as a ebook reader to boot :)

Tablets are great to use on the sofa or bed, and are portable. Allied with a keyboard dock they are a reasonable work unit, but limited currently by low memory. They are not a replacement for desktops or even laptops, as they do not have the graphics power or memory for for intensive usage or gaming (unless you get the razer).

I used my Google Nexus 7 2013 edition with Sygic Navigation ie GPS without internet and works a treat.

Great for portable web browsing, can use my VPN on it, torrents, sky go, ebay my bank app etc etc.

PS use Puffin for flash based browsing :-)

I think the main advantage is the portability.
I have a 7" which I take to work every day.I download my morning newspaper before I leave,I also have books and magazines on there (free from my local library),so I have something to read during my lunch or those quiet times to fend off boredom.

If you're going on a trip they come into their own,you can download maps before you leave.

Better to browse on than a phone.

I love mine and I was a real skeptic before I got it.

I've had loads of tablets and whilst they may be kool for browsing whilst relaxing (that being debatable too as most are too heavy to hold one handed for a long period of time!)- I always end up going back to my main pc or laptop. Much prefer using a proper keyboard to type (spend most my time on this forum lol).

I've got the following from work: Note 10.1, Samsung ATIV Slate thingy. Both just sit in my work bag and don't get used at all.

Was contemplating getting a nexus 7 - but it still comes down to one thing - I hate typing on screens! oh and try cutting and pasting an article (not a url - but a section from an article) onto somewhere like this forum ;)
