I'm not an expert but they all can... right? THX the only audio format that isn't licensed.

There's plenty of SGS2 videos showing it outputting 1080p MKV files (H.264/DTS) via MHL

No idea, some type of HDMI splitter box as a guess?

SGS2 > MHL to HDMI cable > HDMI splitter > one output to the AMP, one to the TV.

Can't you just output sound from the TV to the AMP?
