I've been advised to recommend a tablet under £200, mainly for use in a business showroom for easy access to their website for showing customers alternative products. So there is no real need for mutli tasking, videos etc but HDMI out would be a benefit.

Any recommendations?

Yup that is on the list, curious to know if anyone has any real world experience with it?

Carphone Warehouse (he large ones) tend to have a lot of tablets available for testing.

I ordered one of these from Misco as they offered £100 cash back so the tablet only cost £150, however i had a play on one and found the screen to be dreadfull.

Do you need it to be 10" or would a 7" one be ok?

Buying a used Advent Vega off Ebay might be the best option, or i believe PC World were getting a big shipment around this weekend of them

They need it for a showroom opening in a couple of weeks tops I think so I think that rules that one out.

I think 10" is needed really, saw a 7" Galaxy before and that seemed tiny.

The Vega is on the list too, will look on ebay.

I think the Vega will fit the bill to be honest.

Generally speaking it would be best to have a capacitive screen however this is generally only fitted to the more expensive tablets, although i have also heard very good things about this tablet over on the Modaco forums

Full specs are going to be release for the Pro version very soon i hear.

The Andypad really doesn't seem that great to me to be honest, if the company wasn't near to Paul@Modaco I doubt anyone would have taken much notice.

You can pick up a second hand Galaxy Tab in the same price range (less if it's a Sprint non 3G one) and the spec is much better.

To answer the OP I'd go for a Vega as well, 10 inch screen needed in this type of scenario.

The Archos G9 series will be better than all the cheaper tablet including the Vega. A 1.5GHZ dual core OMAP4 CPU and a highly clocked version of the SGX540 means it will be the most powerful Android tablet when it is released. It also comes with 16GB of internal storage and the 8" version will be around £200 it seems.

If you need a tablet now the Vega looks a good option. The Hannspree Hannspad is meant to have a poor screen:

Hopefully, the Hannspree Hannspad will get a better screen as it does look a decent budget tablet.

If you're showing things to customers, it HAS to be an iPad.

Anything else will reflect poorly on your business and make you look out of touch. Don't skimp.

People are more worried about the competence of the salesperson.

Any of the Tegra based tablets will be decent for general media abilities. I would make sure you modify the UI by using a more efficient and prettier launcher and make sure everything runs smoothly before rolling out the units.

Perhaps use a custom skin with the company logo??

A non 3G galaxy tab for £129? or are you saying the AndyPad Pro version (no official word on price yet) Non 3G galaxy tabs go for £230-£250 on the bay.

Used iPad (£230-40 if you're lucky?) if it's for a demo/showroom. The cheaper Android tablets are great value but they won't be as recognisable or instantly usable by the general public.

Picked up a Vega on the way home for £200 after a play with it in the showroom. Nice and responsive and nice and neat. Absolutely perfect for the job.

I don't agree with the "it has to be an iPad" sentiment. I haven't explained the nature of the business, if it was for a company based in a more technological or a higher end of the market area I might agree but this is purely for accessing the website and not even for handing over to customers to use really.

Seems a bit of a strange, sweeping statement seeing as we don't even know what the company sells. If my parents went into a showroom, they wouldn't know an iPad if it fell on their heads.
