Tachyon: The Fringe on Vista -Argh

I know it is an old game, I know it is far from cutting edge, but I like it.

I just installed Tachyon: The Fringe onto my Vista 64 PC, it just won't play ball. It installs fine, the intro movie starts fine, then it hangs!

I'm miffed, even tries it in compatible mode!

Any ideas as to a fix?

I loved this game, think I got to the part when you attacked the huge mining ship.

Just dug out this classic.

Installed on Vista 64. The problem seems to be the Bink video player. alt-tab out during the intro movie and right click close it. It'll crash, but you can then go back into Tachyon.

i'll give it a go! Isn't it just pants that a new operating system doesn't run old games. Well miffed!
