Was lucky enough to get tickets to the prelims and to boot was lucky enough to get the session that had Jade Jones fighting in :)

The photos are pretty nosiy as I don't really have optimal gear for indoor sports. All taken with an Alpha A700 and my trust Sigam 70-300 F4/5.6 APO. For a cheap (150 quid) telephoto they could have been worse !! I know the quality is bad but it was such a great experience. Also I was shooting from Row 28 so it was really hard trying to keep a steady shot at 200-300mm so I cranked the ISO up for faster shutter speed while shooting as wide as possible for the focal length. Bottom line I need a decent f2.8 telephoto :(

Jade Jones in Action - she won this match 15-3

Thai pre fight coach pep talk - she got her ass handed to her by the Chinese Taipai fighter.

I am still processing a few that are left or at least trying to clean them up as some of them are pretty noisy. I think I shot these at 2500 ISO

Might be my laptop but they look a far bit overexposed.

they are. ISO was probably to high, and I was to excited at being there to sort the settings out. Was really hard trying to get WB right too. I am just thankfull I got something useable at the end :)

Easy to do with bright lights and white clothing.

Really want to be using spot metering and manual exposure settings.

I think this is where I went wrong, I beleive I was using matrix metering and the camera was set likely on Aperture priority. I think I over compensated for exposure as I knew I was not packing a particularly fast telephoto.
