Ok to rename tracks which are named track 1 , etc I use some software called tag and rename really good program.

However it has trouble naming the 2nd cd of compilation albums , due to Amazon database thinking there all on one Cd i.E track 38 etc, when really "track 38" is track 18 say on cd 2.

Anyone have any experience using this software or have solution to the problem with using another program.

Any help would be great

thanks allot :)

It's been a while since i've used tag & rename but if i were to do it with id3-tagit (it's free, see the first google result) i'd highlight all the tracks from CD2 and click 'enumerate' which would number them from 1 to x. Is there a similar function in tag&rename?

I think you may have misunderstood me cd is already named 1-20 but the Amazon database think there called 21- 40 . so it renames cd 2 the same as cd 1 does that make sense. Just have a play with ID3

Thanks for the suggestion any other ideas

Media Monkey has a great function for this, mine just seemed to figure it out. Once its all tagged, indeed like 1-40 from amazon it has a 'create compilation' button which split them into 2/3 albums IE

Clubland 10 CD1
Clubland 10 CD2

As different albums, with the right tracks.

Maybe I was been thick but I couldn't get media monkey to find any albums

Either way tag and rename sorted job out :D
