Hi guys, I currently own a Tagan TG530-U22 530W powersupply and wanted to get your thoughts on its something i need to upgrade before i get a next gen card?

Current system:

Q6600 SLACR
Asus P5B-Deluxe WiFi AP
4GB OCZ Platinum DDR2 6400 (4 x 1GB)
2 x 160GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 (Windows XP)
2 x 750GB Samsung Spinpoint F1 (Windows Vista)
Creative XFi Extreme Music

And

Connect3D X1900XTX 512

Im currently thinking about upgrading to a GTX260 OC or a 1GB 4870...

Yep you will be more than fine. My Tagan 480W is running the following:

q6600 overclocked to 3.8Ghz
2 x 2gb ram
2 x 36gb raptors
1 x 500gb samsung
1 x 750gb samsung
2 x optical drives
1 x d5 laing pump (24w)
1 x wireless card
1 x sb audigy 2 card
1 x fan controller
7 x 120mm fans
1 x ATI 4870

And it's coping fine with all of that :D

Good good, id be gutted to loose my little Tagan. Its been plodding along for years now and never give me a problem. I guess anything more than the 260 and 4870 would be risking it though> maybe a GTX280?

Can't see why. I have more stuff and 40w less in the first place. My waterpump takes 24w so that is 64w difference ignoring my extra stuff and that my quad overclocked is sucking some juice and a GTX 280 only consumes 35w more than a 4870

But you are going to need an 8 pin gfx power lead if you haven't got one and there are as rare as hen's teeth, currently only available in the states for £25 to the uk

And I agree about the Tagan. I bought mine 3 and half years ago and glad I bought the biggest you could at the time and seemed overkill for my Athlon + x800 system. It has done me proud.
