I bought a Tagan 900 watt PSU but seem to be having issues with it. When its plugged in it'll briefly powers up the system but then everything stops. The system works fine with the old power supply. I'm trying to plug it into a Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 with a QX6700.

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated.

Are you sure thay everything is plugged in correctly? Some times it's the things you overlook that cause the problems. It would be wise to test it on a friend's PC before sending it back.
Getting the PSU in a local PC store and asking if someone can put a device that checks if all the rails are working would save you much trouble.

Thanks for the response. I've just plugged it into my older Athlon box and the PSU works fine so its the combination of the PSU and motherboard that isn't working. The Athlon system doesn't seem to need the extra 4/8 pin connector so i'm wondering if its to do with that.
