basically my Tagan 480W has started making the dreaded ticking noise, the PSU is just over 2 years old so its still under warranty. I emailed tagan and they want me to send them the PSU at my own cost for testing before they will ship a replacement. Problem is that I will be left without a PC for however long they decide to take for 'testing' and I need my PC for work almost everyday.

Has anyone had experiences with Tagan RMA process and is sending them back for testing the only choice I have? If so how long does the process normally takes?

A year or so ago they were sending out brand new ones for replacements via Amtrak and the driver would pick up your old one at the same time.

Are you dealing with Nanopoint?

yea I am using Nanopoint, the email i got back from them was

Hi ,

Could you please return the unit back to us at your own cost, at the address below ensuring that it is suitably packed and that you have proof of dispatch for your own records as we cannot accept responsible for lost or damaged units, could you also please ensure that your RMA number XXXXXX is clearly visible on the outside packaging this will enable us to look at your details immediately and process your claim quicker.

Once the unit has completed testing and if the report shows that the unit has failed then a replacement will be dispatched back to you.

If you have any further queries then please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Best Regards,
Merly Burns
