Got my R&G tail tidy on today and the number plate LED isn't working.

I cut the connector off the old tail section, stripped back the end and crimped into the bits provided, then attached the connector to the cables coming from the tail tidy LED like this:

Above: the bit at the bottom, with yellow & black is the original bit from the old tail number plate light, then the bit going off at the top attached to the R&G LED.

So now the LED bit plugs directly into the original plug on my bike.

The LED is not working though. I checked the connections and all looks perfect. Black to black, yellow to red as it says in the instructions.

Am I missing something here? Or is the R&G LED broken?

Any ideas of how I can test the R&G LED?

Thanks

Ah ok, odd how it's in black to black, red to yellow at the mo and doesn't work! I'll give it a go after supper.

Also, does anyone know what the little bits of metal are called that you crimp round the cables, and also the sleeves that go over (seen in the pic above)? I messed up with the rubbery bit so wouldn't mind doing that again.

Thanks

I've emailed R&G about it now, who have thanked me & said they'd pass the info on to the right department. No idea if it'll make it in to the manual or not though.
