In that case, mention the national minimum wage, and tax to them, you can call up https://www.gov.uk/pay-and-work-rights-helpline for advice, they may be doging taxes too (at the very least NI, if they're not paying you the minimum wage via PAYE)
1995? It would have been cheaper than that, closer to 50p. It sticks in my mind that 58.9p/litre was a good price in 1998, although plenty of places it was 60p+
75p was probably the highest it reached before I quit around '99, Just looking it would have only been around 60-65p a litre in '98.....how times have changed lol
No the job wont be legal as far as tax etc goes, none of the chineese or chippy's are 99% of the time....It's all cash in hand.
